Hands

A hand slithering
southwards in the night,
deep breathing, sleeping –
unaware.

Fingers parting,
soft skin, fragile,
delicate and hidden–
elastic pulled away.

Rousing stir,
hand wrenched out,
man slinks back –
troubled dreams.

Cold stares,
morning glow,
hand on door handle –
eyes willing ‘leave’.
